Want to be proud of your profession? Read on! AOTA, WOTA and Rebuilding Together are partners in providing free professional home repairs and modifications to improve function, safety and quality of life for low income homeowners who are elderly, disabled or veterans. This year we’re taking that partnership to a whole new level in the Greater Milwaukee Area.

The Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Council, Inc., the area’s leading home improvement and remodeling resource, will celebrate 50 years of service to the community by joining forces with Rebuilding Together Greater Milwaukee (RTGM) and WOTA to make 50 homes safer and more accessible. Recipients of services include the elderly, disabled, military veterans, and families in need.

OTs, OTAs and OT student teams do home visits and offer homeowners suggestions on equipment, environment and activity redesign to enhance homeowner safety, independence and quality of life.

1. Professional development: Using your expertise may count toward license or certification renewal
2. Enhance your knowledge about the person-environment-occupation dynamic in a real setting
3. Increase awareness of Occupational Therapy: Volunteers, homeowners and the larger community see you in action
4. Team building with volunteers inside and outside your profession
